Hi, I'm Anil Kumar — founder of CMCOPYS. From managing a family tea shop to building Bangalore's student-first printing platform, entirely on my own.

The Beginning
Before starting CMCOPYS, I used to manage my family's Tea shop alone. Due to personal and financial problems, I could not continue the business. Later, I started a small Xerox shop — and that changed everything.
While working there, I noticed how difficult and stressful printing was for students during exams, assignments, and project submissions. Many wasted time searching for print shops, paid high prices, and still struggled to get quality service on time.
Within months, I realised this problem was much bigger than a normal Xerox shop. I wanted to build something that could truly help students. But life was not easy.
Due to financial difficulties, I had to close the shop and restart from a small car shed — no technical background, no funding, no support system. Still, I did not give up. I taught myself web development entirely through YouTube and built the entire CMCOPYS platform by myself.

The idea became even stronger after seeing a close friend struggle financially despite being extremely talented. He consistently scored above 90% and had the potential to become an IAS or IPS officer — but financial pressure forced him into full-time work before he could realise that dream.
Seeing talented students struggle despite their hard work made me realise that many students across India face the same situation. That is when I decided to build not just a printing service, but a student-focused platform that could also create earning opportunities through our notes marketplace.
The Journey
The Start
Managed the family business independently, facing personal and financial challenges that eventually forced a difficult closure.
The Insight
Running a small Xerox shop revealed how severely students were underserved — long queues, high prices, unreliable service during exam season.
The Restart
Closed the shop due to financial difficulties. Restarted from a car shed with zero tech background — teaching myself web development through YouTube, alone.
November 2024
Launched the full platform — online print ordering, doorstep delivery, and a topper notes marketplace enabling students to earn passive income.
Today
Serving 800+ students across Bangalore with same-day print delivery, a growing notes creator network, and a 5-star Google rating.
